“I do not at all understand the mystery of grace – only that it meets us where we are but does not leave us where it found us.”
~ Anne Lamot

“Grace is available for each of us every day – our spiritual daily bread – but we’ve got to remember to ask for it with a grateful heart and not worry about whether there will be enough for tomorrow.”

Paloma’s Nest

Every once in a while, as I am reading a dozen other planners blogs, searching the internet to find unique ideas and items to offer to my brides, I come across a real treasure.
That’s what happened when I became aware of Paloma’s Nest just up the road in Austin. Caroline Colom Vasquez is the artist and designer who has created these unique modern heirlooms — “pieces for the home and the heart”.
From the most amazing ring bearer bowlsring bearers bowl
to a lovely custom tile to be tied to the brides bouquetbridal bouquet.

I think one of my favorites would be a perfect gift for the bride and groom. wedding vows bowl This lovely bowl is custom made with the couples vows. What a lovely piece for their new home and what a wonderful reminder of that special day.

Visit Paloma’s Nest online for many more lovely possibilities for your wedding and for gift ideas. Also be sure to check out their holiday items too.

“Grace isn’t a little prayer you chant before receiving a meal. It’s a way to live.”
Jackie Windspear

As you start your work week, spend a moment to identify the grace that is part of your life. I’d love for you to share it with me.

After an absence from the wedding industry of two years, I came back a year ago to find a big change in the way things were done. Previously a website was a must but I’d never even heard of blogs, twitter or facebook. I’ d never even seen an inspiration board. This past year has been spent bringing Beginnings and its owner up to speed on this exciting and ever changing industry.
When I started to blog, I did it with the old advice that as a professional wedding planner our personal life and feelings should be kept private and not shared with our clients. I have learned in the past year that I was leaving the “social” out of “social media” This is changing as of this post.

So along with news about amazing vendors, and venues and the latest wedding trends, I will be sharing those things I’ve learned and am still learning about living a grace filled life.

Always the Bridesmaid…

For some brides the decision of who to ask to be your bridesmaid is an easy one. You’ve known since you were 11 who would be standing with you on your wedding day. For others, who to choose is more difficult, involving a certain amount of diplomacy. Once the decision is made, why not make the asking special??
I found a couple of really cute cards that you might find fun.

I really loved this one, but its a promise you have to keep

So whoever you choose and however you choose to ask them, keep it fun and make it clear that their part in your wedding is very dear to you.
